Before going through the Mei Zen treatments, I had investigated some of the popular treatments that are out there today. I was not thrilled by the invasive nature of some of the treatments, the expense associated with the available treatments, and the short term benefits associated with the treatments. Having had a great deal of success with acupuncture for other issues and having researched a bit about it on the Internet, I decided to give Mei Zen a try. I am really glad I did. In a few days I noticed changes in the elasticity and color tone of my skin.
About half way through the treatments, I saw noticeable tightening of the skin on my neck. At the end of the treatments, I felt that there was a great overall improvement in my skin quality that is very natural and unaffected. Who should not have Cosmetic Acupuncture?
There are various cautions including thyroid problems, blood disorders, damaged blood vessels, hypersensitivity, hypertensive disease and those with pacemakers. It may still be possible however to use facial massage and some alternative techniques in such circumstances.

What is the course of treatment? How long does it take?
A course of treatment is 10 to 12 sessions done 2 to 3 times a week. One session takes about an hour and a half. With deep wrinkles, the procedure can take up to 8 weeks. Individuals respond differently depending upon their constitution, age and lifestyle. Visible results can often be seen after one or two treatments and will be consistent after 6 to 7 sessions. Once the procedure is completed, the changes and improvements can last to up to 5 years! Maintenance is recommended – generally, a ‘tune-up’ treatment every 3 or 4 months.
Is this procedure painful?
The procedure is much less painful than many of today’s sought-after skin treatments. The needles are tiny, special ‘hand’ needles. Insertion is shallow into the dermal layer of the skin.
Will I need special products to take care of my face?
