I’ve been ‘surfing’ to see what might be happening and what might be said around the country to back up my assertion that ‘acupuncture works’ for couples hoping to get pregnant and even for those who have had to go the distance, in-vitro fertilization. As ‘far back’ as 2005, Fox News reported on the efficacy and improvement in patient outcome when acupuncture was used along with fertility treatment. In this Fox News report, Dr. Paul C. Magarelli, an infertility doctor at the Reproductive Medicine & Fertility Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., became a believer after signing on as a participant in a study using acupuncture along with IVF. In his words:
“I thought, this is rubbish — it can’t be true,” Magarelli said. “But no matter how I look at this data, I see an improvement. … I’m pretty much a convert.”
That is what I like to hear! And that is what I like to be able to pass on. The medical community turning this way and all of us working together with confidence for success in achieving fertility, in making the dream of babies and pregnancies and family, manifest.
